ABOUT US

OUR ORGANIZATION

The Kajukenbo Pacific Coast Association (KPCA) is a nonprofit mutual benefit corporation formed to honor, preserve, and promote the teachings of Great Grandmaster Joseph S. Halbuna and his unique lineage within the Kajukenbo martial art system.

Incorporated in California and governed by an Executive Board representing the major branches of the Halbuna lineage, KPCA is a central hub for students, instructors, and supporters who share a common commitment to integrity, heritage, and community.

OUR PURPOSE

KPCA was established to:

Unify the students and lineages of GGM Halbuna under one cooperative and supportive association

Promote family spirit among those dedicated to the Halbuna Lineage of Kajukenbo

Host the annual Halbuna Kajukenbo Gathering, preserving connection and tradition

Establish rank guidelines and recognition standards based on the practices of GGM Halbuna

Maintain a comprehensive lineage database and family tree consistent with the official Kajukenbo records

Offer continuing education opportunities in Kajukenbo and related martial arts

OUR STRUCTURE

KPCA is overseen by a five-member Executive Board composed of:

Four Directors from distinct Halbuna lineages (Original Method, Bianchi, Maschmeier, Togisala)

One Halbuna Family Representative

All directors hold a black belt and actively teach or train in Kajukenbo. These positions are held for life or until resignation, inactivity, or removal as defined by the bylaws.

MEMBERSHIP

We offer three membership classes:

Active Members: Practitioners from the Halbuna lineage, with full access and voting rights

Associate Members: Martial artists from outside the lineage, welcomed as affiliates

Honorary Members: Non-voting community supporters or family recognized by the Board

JOIN THE LEGACY

Whether you are a lifelong student of Kajukenbo or newly discovering the art, the KPCA welcomes those who value tradition, discipline, and connection. Through gatherings, education, and shared lineage, we stand together to ensure the Halbuna spirit of Kajukenbo lives on.
